REVIEW OF MY WORK ON Acoustic Levitation by Steven Koenig

“SERGIO A. RIVAS
The Weather Is Hot
Homenaje a Charles Bukowski

Sergio Rivas is an audio engineer and musician residing in Mexico City. He calls his electronic works with texts “interventions.” His passions include the written and visual arts.

He writes:

This work is an homage to the writings of Charles Bukowski. My idea was to represent with sound the words of Bukowski, using his poem “The Weather Is Hot.” It’s an intervention of his work. The idea was to create a piece in which all the sounds create a complementary way of feeling the poetry. I recommend listening to it with headphones.

My work fluctuates between jazz, free improvisation, sound design and sound art. I almost always work with digital media and I’m totally open to working with artists around the world by this tool of binary order.”

Al igual que Charles Bukowski, yo tampoco quiero que se lleven mis poemas. Prefiero que se lleven mis monedas para el autobus, pero no el romance escrito que brota de mi alma.
